A guide for parents

How coaching with Benjy works, how we keep young drivers safe, and what we do and don’t promise.

How sessions work

  • Every session is live and online, via Discord. There are no in-person sessions.
  • Benjy works with your driver in the sim, reviewing laps, replays and data together.
  • You book and pay through our online booking page, and joining instructions are sent by email.

Keeping young drivers safe

  • For drivers under 18, a parent or guardian contacts us before the first booking.
  • Coaching takes place on the BDR Coaching Discord server, not in private messages.
  • Parents are welcome to sit in on any session.
  • Our safeguarding lead is an adult member of the BDR-PaddockAI team. Contact us at hello@benjydouglasracing.co.uk.

Payments

  • Payments and terms are handled by BDR-PaddockAI.
  • Payment is taken securely online at booking, and prices include VAT.
  • Multi-session options, such as the Foundation Block, are paid upfront. Benjy then schedules the remaining sessions with you.

What we do and don’t promise

  • We promise structured coaching and measurable progress: every driver is scored at the start and re-scored after a block.
  • We never promise a race seat, a scholarship, results or a career outcome.
  • Coaching is in the sim. It isn’t circuit instruction.

Thinking about real racing?

Moving from sim to a real car is a big commitment, for drivers and for families. Benjy has answered the questions parents ask most, including what junior racing actually costs, on the FAQs page.
